Paradise Lost in Space
Joshua, along with co-writer Omri Navot, created Paradise Lost in Space, a queer sci-fi musical. Drawing from John Milton’s epic poem, Paradise Lost in Space reframes the myth of creation as a comedic space opera to explore themes of gender non-conformity and conflict transformation.
Paradise Lost in Space was originally produced by the Radical Faerie communities in Vermont and Tennessee, where Joshua co-directed and performed as the holographic Motherborg.
With a recent grant provided by New York City Artist Corps, Paradise Lost in Space was staged as a reading and concert at The Players on October 27, 2021. Joshua and Omri are working with composer Fiora Wise to turn it into a full-fledged musical.
